Police early Sunday arrested a 38-year-old Stamford man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 5:46 a.m. on June 20, officers were dispatched to the area of Route 123 near East Avenue on a report of an erratic driver, according to a police report.
Officers found the suspect vehicle near the Route 123 intersection at Carter Street, and the driver was asleep at the wheel, the report said.
On speaking with the man, the officers noted signs of impairment and administered field sobriety tests, it said.
They took him into custody on the misdemeanor charge and, at the Police Station, the man refused to provide a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, the report said.
He additionally was charged with possession of marijuana, it said.
Police related the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear July 20 in state Superior Court.
