Letter: Re-Elect Moynihan, Williams

More

First Selectman Kevin Moynihan and Selectman Nick Williams have consistently been innovative, respectful, ‘Can Do’ listeners who get things done for all of New Canaan. They have earned our votes. Have a question? An idea? Send them an email, or better yet, give them a call. And Kevin always welcomes people stopping by his office. How do I know? Personal experience. This is the collaborative leadership we need to keep.

Kevin and Nick both understand our town deeply, and have lived here for 38 and 23 years, respectively. A former Town Council member, Kevin remains active in local charities such as the Exchange Club, and is a former board member of Getabout, which helps our elderly and people with disabilities shop and make medical visits. Nick served on our Board of Education, where he was elected chairman, and is active in youth sports. These experiences set them apart.

Results? Success in increasing commuter parking, at no cost to the town. Progress in expanding cell service—crucial to public safety and property values. Bringing solar power to four town-owned buildings to keep New Canaan green and sustainable. Supporting open space and historic preservation, such as the antique Grupes-Nichols-Browne house on Valley Road. And getting natural gas installed. The list goes on.

Quality of life, collaboration, fiscal responsibility and concern for those in need. Kevin Moynihan and Nick Williams have walked the walk every day. Let’s re-elect them.
