Police before dawn on Friday arrested an 18-year-old Greenwich man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 1:29 a.m. on June 17, an officer clocked a vehicle traveling north on Old Stamford Road at 54 mph in a 30 mph zone, according to a police report.
On stopping the vehicle, the officer smelled alcohol on the motorist’s breath, the report said.
The driver failed field sobriety tests and police found an unopened 30-pack of Natural Light beer in the car, it said.
Police additionally charged the teen with possession of alcohol by minor on a public street or highway, first offense, and cited him for speeding.
He was released on $250 bond and scheduled to appear June 30 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
