The New Canaan Recreation Department is seeking lifeguards to work this summer at the Steve Benko Pool in Waveny, officials say. Lifeguards must be 15-and-a-half years old, according to Rec staff members at Wednesday’s meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission.

New Canaan Police at 8:57 p.m. on Feb. 24 received a complaint from Walgreens on Pine Street of youth spraying deodorant throughout the store.

The 2 p.m. Saturday show of “Ordinary People” from the Town Players of New Canaan at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny is free to teens. The theater company at a Feb. 25 benefit centered on the production raised $18,000 to support the New Canaan Urgent Assessment program, a partnership between Silver Hill Hospital and the town. Sponsors of “Ordinary People” (running through March 5) and the benefit include Walter Stewart’s Market; Stewart’s Wine and Spirits; Karl Chevrolet; Francos Wine Merchants; Carriage Barn Arts Center; Connecticut Humanities; Connecticut Public; Keith E. Last week, more than 6,000 pages of correspondence was uploaded to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website in the first of the New Canaan Preservation Alliance’s four active lawsuits versus the town of New Canaan and New Canaan Library. ***
