New Construction Planned for Carter Street

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a 3,800-square-foot house on Carter Street. The four-bedroom home planned for 831 Carter St. will include three bathrooms and one half-bath, according to a building permit application filed Jan. 19. 

The six rooms on the first floor will include a kitchen and half-bath as well as dining, family and living rooms, with seven rooms upstairs and an unfinished basement and attic, the application said. It also will have a two-car garage, it said.

The New Canaan Building Department on Dec. 22 received an application to build a new home on Hillcrest Road. The five-bedroom home planned for 25 Hillcrest will include five full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to a building permit application. The house will have 5,010 square feet of living space on the first two floors, as well as a finished 900-square-foot basement with a mudroom and playroom, the application said. It will cost about $755,000 to build, the application said.

The one-acre property, located in the one-acre zone, had been purchased for $1 million in October, tax records show. The new ownership company applied for a demolition permit for the 1954-built ranch-style house on the property.

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a new house on Rosebrook Road. The five-bedroom house at 240 Rosebrook Road will include seven bathrooms, a three-car garage and about 4,900 square feet of living space on the first and second floors, according to a building permit application filed Nov. 5. It will include an office in the attic and gym with golf simulator in the basement, the application said. The house will cost about $2 million to build, it said.

New Construction Planned for Douglas Road

The New Canaan Building Department has received an application to build a 4,285-square-foot home on Douglas Road. The five bedroom home at 112 Douglas Road will include four full bathrooms, two half-baths and a two-car garage, according to a building permit filed Sept. 21. 

The wood-frame home will cost about $700,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Weston-based EIMEG LLC, it said. The architect is Dennis Peters of Wilton, it said.
