The New Canaan Rams boys hockey team made an impressive run in the FCIAC playoffs, falling to eventual champion Darien in the semifinals. That game might not have ever happened if not for the heroics in double overtime of senior forward Parker Lewis in New Canaan’s quarterfinal match against Fairfield last Saturday.
Lewis knocked home a rebound at the 3:56 mark of the second extra session for a dramatic game-winning goal, capping off a remarkable 3-2 comeback win, after the Rams fell behind early 2-0.
The No. 12-seeded Rams (12-7-3) will look to regroup after last week’s loss to Darien as they travel to the Milford Ice Pavilion take on No. 5 seed Notre Dame-Fairfield (11-9-0) Wednesday night at 7:30pm. New Canaan hopes to avenge a 6-2 loss to the Lancers from earlier this season.
