New Canaan Police are investigating the theft of a purse with debit and credit cards from a vehicle parked at Waveny. A suspect entered the car by forcing entry through a door lock, police said. It was reported at 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 25. ***

New Canaan attorney and baseball historian/lecturer Kelley Franco Throop will be joined by New York Mets legend Ron Darling and public relations director for Major League Baseball, Bob Wirz, for “Baseball: Stories & History of America’s Favorite Pastime.”

Homecoming weekend is here. The NCHS Rams football game versus Wilton (both teams are 4-1 overall) will start at 2 p.m. at Dunning Field. Please note that game time is 2 p.m., with a special celebration planned for halftime, honoring Bob VanDerheyden, who has stepped down after 65 years as PA at home football games. Plans include citations from the town and state, the latter of which will be presented by state Rep. Tom O’Dea (R-125th).

A Walk & Talk with select exhibiting artists from the 73rd A-ONE exhibition will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Silvermine Galleries. The show highlights the diversity of work that is currently being made by established and emerging artists. “Established in 1949 as the New England Exhibition, a regional exhibit, it later became known as Art of the Northeast and is now a national exhibition,” organizers say.
