Ryan Frederick Rothfuss, 23

Ryan Frederick Rothfuss 23, of New Canaan, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2021. He was born in New York City at Mt. Sinai Hospital on August 15, 1997 to Frederick and Marylou Rothfuss of New Canaan. Ryan was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, boyfriend and friend. He was a gifted oil painter from the age of 7.

Margaret Elliot Bryan, 90

Margaret Elliot Bryan (Miggie) died peacefully on June 12, 2020 at the age of 90 from Alzheimer’s disease in Palo Alto, CA.  Miggie grew up in South Orange, NJ and graduated from Columbia H.S. and Newark State Teachers College (now Kean University). She was married to Barry Bryan for 66 years and worked as an elementary school teacher and homemaker. She was a devoted and joyful mother to Chris (Pascale Giraud), Sukey (Jim Brooks), Sallie (Andrew Levy), and Peter who predeceased her in 1981, and loving grandmother to four boys. She lived in New Canaan, CT, Paris, Manhattan and, after Barry’s retirement from Debevoise & Plimpton, on Fishers Island, NY. Miggie was a fiercely devoted teacher, mother, friend and neighbor.

Richard Staba, 89

Richard Staba, 89, of New Canaan, CT, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer. Richard was born to Veronica and Joseph Staba in Hoboken, NJ. After graduating high school, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University. His career began at First National City Bank (Citibank), where he was employed for 45-years, spending most of those years in Commercial Lending and Finance. He also spent a few years consulting for a family-owned commodity trading company. He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico during his service.

Cameron Edwin Hutchins

Cameron Edwin Hutchins
November 17, 1958 – July 9, 2021

Cameron Edwin Hutchins was a beloved husband, father, and friend remembered for his quick wit, integrity, and commitment to New Canaan. He died on Friday July 9, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born to Dan and Marilyn Hutchins in Summit, New Jersey; Cam spent the first years of his life in Mercer Island, WA before his family settled in New Canaan, CT in 1965. Cam met many of his lifelong friends at Center School, Saxe Middle School, and New Canaan High School; and continued to cultivate these connections through his work on NCHS reunions and the Class of 1977 Scholarship Fund. Cam filled out his circle of childhood friends at the Roton Point Association, a beach club in Rowayton, CT; where he spent every summer and stayed actively involved as an adult. He was elected to the Roton Point Board of Directors in 1998 and had served ever since, first as Club Secretary and then as Club President. 

Cam attended Amherst College, where he expanded his group of lifelong friends.
