New Canaan Police are investigating a complaint of a package stolen from a Huckleberry Hill Road home’s mailbox, reported at 7:27 p.m. Tuesday.

Congratulations to the NCHS girls varsity tennis team on notching an FCIAC title by defeating Greenwich High School 4-3. Led by coach Catherine Walker, they will head into the state tournament this weekend. ***

The 2024 New Canaan Old Timers Golf Outing will be held Tuesday, June 25 at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield. The ​New Canaan Old Timers Association’s outing benefits the Vin Iovino Scholarship and New Canaan High School athletic scholarships. Shotgun start at 1 p.m., scramble format with dinner to follow—$175 per golfer includes golf, cart and dinner.

New Canaan Police are investigating two more instances of graffiti in town: spray paint on a fence near train tracks behind an Old Studio Road home (complaint received at 9:35 a.m. on May 11) and graffiti on a garbage can in front of Joe’s Pizza on Locust Avenue (11:45 a.m. on May 9). ***

New Canaan Police at 7:56 a.m. on April 30 received a report of a vehicle stolen from an Old Studio Road driveway. It was recovered in West Hartford. ***

Congratulations to New Canaan resident Justina Marque, a ninth-grader at King School, on winning a 2024 Global Education Benchmark Group Salomon Prize. The award recognizes students who effectively use writing or other media to illustrate/reflect their intercultural and global growth through classroom study, travel programs, or other school experiences. ***

The 2024 New Canaan CARES Home Tour will be held Friday, May 31 (home tour 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., patron party 2 to 4 p.m.).

New Canaan Police are investigating smash-and-grab thefts from Waveny (reported at 5:57 p.m. on April 22) and Mead Park (5:59 p.m. on April 22). In each case, a purse with a wallet was stolen through the smashed window. Police have no suspects. ***
