New Canaan Police are investigating a report received at 5:33 p.m. on March 5 of a package stolen from the front porch of a Dan’s Highway home. They have no suspects. ***

The Board of Selectmen at its March 5 meeting voted 3-0 in favor of hiring a New Canaan woman, Rachel Lampen, as the wedding coordinator at Waveny. She will be paid $32,500 in the part-time job, according to the Department of Human Resources. ***

The New Canaan Beautification League’s annual appeal is underway.

New Canaan Police at 6:39 p.m. on March 1 arrested a 39-year-old West Haven man by warrant and charged him with second-degree failure to appear, in connection with a number of motor vehicle-related charges from 2022. The same man faces four counts of second-degree harassment, according to Connecticut Judicial Branch records. ***

New Canaan Police at 7:29 a.m. Sunday received a report of a burglary at a Deacon’s Way residence. Criminals had forced entry through a rear window and stolen cash and jewelry from the home. An investigation is underway. ***

The Silvermine Arts Center’s “Every Picture Tells a Story” exhibition at Silvermine Galleries will hold an opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The exhibition will run through April 4.
